Zone Athletics Carnival
Last Friday we had of our young athletes compete at the Tuggerah Lakes zone athletics carnival. I was very impressed with the standard of competition and the way in which the children competed. Special mention of Grace and Thomas whom both competed so well across a range of events and Imogen whom finished second in the girls High Jump and made it through to the Sydney North Carnival to be held on Monday, 12 September.
Parenting tutorials.
I often get asked parenting advice on how to deal with certain issues that come up every now and then. Attached is a link to a brand new online parenting course from the University of Sydney. It is pretty comprehensive, free and easy to access. Please have a look. https://parentworks.org.au/#/
ParentWorks is a free online program for Australian parents and caregivers of children 2 to 16. It provides evidence-based parenting strategies to improve parenting skills, confidence and child behaviour. This means that the strategies in the program have been tested and found to work.
Parents and caregivers may find this program helpful for:
•Managing challenging child behaviours such as tantrums, aggression, noncompliance, inattentive or hyperactive behaviour, sibling conflict, getting ready for school and/or bed, and behaviours outside the home, such as problems in the supermarket
•Increasing their confidence in parenting
•Working as a team with their partner
Oliver Implementation
Our school will have a new web based learning, teaching, information and Library management tool called Oliver rolled out over the next 12 weeks to replace the existing Library Oasis system. Oliver will also deliver digital content such as ebooks and websites to our school.
