Thank you to our wonderful staff here at Wyong Creek Public School who did a beautiful job keeping the school running in my absence.
Last week I was at the NSW Primary Principals Association state conference. This conference gave us the chance to hear from incredible speakers about the very latest in educational thinking and also provide us with a chance to sit down with the Premier, Education Minister and other dignitaries from within the Public Education system to discuss what is important to us at the front line of educational delivery.
Movie Night
Next Thursday the 3rd of November Wyong Creek Public School is hosting a community movie night organised and run by our P&C in partnership with our Year 6 children. At 6pm Year 6 will be opening 3 stalls, a BBQ, a sweet shop and a hair/nail salon to fund raise for their end of year school gift.
At 6:30pm the P&C will be showing Zootopia on the outdoor screen.
The cost will be $5 pp or $15 per family. Please bring a picnic rug to sit on and enjoy a wonderful family evening.
Kinder Orientation
Our Kindergarten orientation program is due to begin on Friday the 11th of November. We are looking forward to seeing all of our new students here at school.
End of year celebrations
This year we will be hosting three events to celebrate the end of the year.
Our annual presentation evening will take place on Monday 12th Dec at school. (Wet weather option will be the Wyong Creek hall)
The end of year disco will take place at the Wyong Creek Hall on Thursday December 15th from 3pm to 5pm.
On December the 16th we will be hosting a sprinkler splash and party day here at school.
Funding
Last week we received notification of our RAM funding amounts for 2017. Due to the GONSKI funding we have received some increases in our overall funding. We have now begun working on our staffing and budget for next year. For the first time our staffing funding is included in our overall funding. We are in the process of reviewing our programs and deciding how to allocate available funds to ensure that programs implemented for 2017 are successful in attaining the outcomes from the final year of our 3 year strategic plan. An overview of our draft budget and programs for 2017 will be presented at the next P & C Meeting on Monday 21st November.
