K/1 News
We have had another wonderful week in K/1. I am seeing some great progress during our morning literacy groups. Congratulations to our super student of the week, William G. Will has been putting a big effort into his reading and is achieving some pleasing results. He has now set himself a challenge with his writing. Keep up the good work Will! We are continuing with ourauthor studyon MemFox this week as weread Koala Lou.
During numeracy groups this week we are focussing on Fractions. Specifically we have been learning how to divide groups and shapes into halves, quarters and eighths. Fractions lend themselves to lots of fun maths games. Get creative with this topic and I would love to hear what games you invented.
Our swimming lessons are coming up soon and I am trying to chat with K/1 families about the K/1 children's swimming skills. If I haven't spoken with you about your child's swimming skills and you have any concerns, please come and have a chat with me.
Thanks again to the adult helpers who give up their time to read with K/1 during our literacy groups, the children benefit greatly from having you read with them.
